Google adds image-to-video generation capability to Veo 3

Google said on Thursday that it will be integrating the ability to convert images into videos into its Veo 3 AI movie generator via the Gemini app.

This feature was already available in the company’s AI-powered video tool, Flow, which was introduced at Google’s I/O developer conference in May.

Google introduced Veo 3-powered video production in May, and as of last week, it was accessible in more than 150 countries. Only users of the Google AI Ultra and Google AI Pro plans are now able to create films, with a daily restriction of three creations and no carryover.

According to Google, users can create a clip by uploading a photo and choosing the “Videos” option from the tool menu in the prompt box. By describing the audio in the prompt, you can also include sound. You can share or download the video after it has been created.

According to the firm, users have produced over 40 million videos using the Gemini app and Flow tool since its launch seven weeks ago. In addition to an invisible SynthID digital watermark—which Google’s AI tool uses to detect AI-powered digital artifacts—all videos produced with the Veo 3 model will have a visible stamp that reads “Veo.”
